Board Bios
Alexis Decosimo - PresidentAlexis received her Doctorate in Public Health from East Tennessee State University and received her masters in Art Therapy and Clinical Counseling at The George Washington University. Alexis is currently working as an art therapist in Asheville, NC and is the Founder and Executive Director of Playing to Live! She specializes in trauma informed art therapy, program development, and international work. She has worked in Yekepa, Liberia, India, Jamaica, Florence, Italy, and Walter Reed National Military Hospital. She has worked as a clinician in wilderness therapy settings, autism, substance abuse, at risk youth in diverse populations, PTSD, military, and with homeless and displaced persons. She has experienced time and time again how artistic expression, play, and cultural empowerment can facilitate recovery and healing after a traumatic experience, and her passion and career path lies within developing global programs that provide children in low resource communities a safe and healing space for recovering from trauma.

Tiffany May - SecretaryTiffany received her B.A in History and Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is currently a legal secretary at a leading Southeastern law firm. Tiffany has served on several non-profit committees, and is grateful for her opportunity to serve Playing to Live, as she believes wholeheartedly in its mission, values, and leadership. Since its foundation in 2014, she has seen the impact of Playing to Live on an international scale, and eagerly anticipates its continued impact as it meets the growing needs of the world around it.

Garnett Decosimo -TreasurerGarnett Decosimo was raised in Chattanooga, TN where he graduated from the Baylor School. He enrolled at the University of Georgia (UGA) and earned both a B.A in International Affairs and a Masters in Accountancy. After college, Garnett started his career as a CPA in the audit practice of KPMG in Atlanta, GA, primarily serving Fortune 500 manufacturing and retail firms. After three years in public accounting, Garnett decided to pursue a policy focused career in the United States Senate. For the past year, he has been serving as a legislative staff member focused on budget, tax, and fiscal policy in Washington, D.C.

Kris Ostergard - Executive Board MemberKris Ostergard is a successful entrepreneur and has spent the better part of the last two decades in the technology industry. A graduate of Christopher Newport University and Carnegie Mellon University, Kris currently develops go-to-market strategies for new products at a Fortune 500 company. Kris was inspired to join the Playing to Live Board after seeing the incredible transformation of children who had recently experienced incredible trauma and their recovery after involvement with PTL programs. In his spare time, Kris enjoys woodworking and is an avid fan of the Washington Capitals.
